This colorful barrel was auctioned (and won by Markoff’s Haunted Forest!) at an event raising money for Bikes for the World and Hope in South Africa. It took HOURS to measure and paint the squares, but I think geometry is SO incredibly satisfying and didn’t mind the tedium at all. I kind of loved it. I also experimented with my first homemade stencil for the bikes with globe tires -my own play on the Bikes for the World logo- and loved how convenient the stencil was. The bright colors on this are my favorite part. BRIGHT COLORS!
This piece was auctioned at an event called Sundowners, held at River’s Edge Farm in Dickerson, MD every October to raise money for the Hope in South Africa and Bikes for the World.
Hope in South Africa is the Community Center project we visited in December 2021 that I spoke about here (LINK TO MY SOUTH AFRICA PHOTOS).
